Default Bakflip F1 vs. Undercover Flex vs. Undercover Ultra Flex

Sorry... another tonneau cover "what would you do" question. I just got a new 2016 Ford F150 Lariat and am looking for a good tonneau cover. I have it narrowed down to these three. A bit concerned about the Undercover Ultra Flex with the aluminum top resilience wise and it getting hot in the summer. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know about the Ultra Flex, but I've had the Undercover Flex on my 2016 SCab for about 7 months. It has been through a mild winter with snow in VA with temp in the teens, and a couple weeks of FL sun into the 90's. It seals well, operates well under all the conditions it has seen. No problems with leaking. I've used a couple times open at highway speeds and the prop rods work fine, with no excessive wind noise. So far no issues with wear or closing. I just have to remember to unlatch it before closing the tailgate. The only thing I might change are the clips that hold the prop rods when they are down. They are a bit flimsy.

the Ultra Flex might look better on a Lariat, but I like the standard Flex on my FX4

Do you know if the UltraFlex requires unlatching the tailgate? That'd be a deal killer for me.

I have the undercover ultra flex and love it so far. It's been on since January and don't have any issue. It will leak water if you sit there with a power washer, but that's really not a concearn as it doesn't leak when it rains. I wouldn't worry about the heat messing with it at all. It does have something like a 5 year warranty on it.

it does not. They designed a new seal for the tailgate and it seem to work pretty well.

I've had the undercover flex on my 2016 since July (2016). So it was on during the better part of our South Carolina summer. No issues, and I'd buy it again.

Not one that you had listed but take a look at the Bak Revolver X2. I've had it on my truck for almost a year and it's been great. No lock needed since the two latches to open it are under the cover and are completely hidden when the tailgate is closed

The cover flips up and rolls back which is pretty cool... so if you wanted to leave the bed open while driving you can do that. Never had any issues with leaks and it's been pretty rainy over the past year in GA.

Before you buy a Bak Flip, check out the ProZ brand on autoanything. Same exact design as the Bak flip but a couple of hundred dollars cheaper. This is what I did and my cousin has the Bak Flip F1. We could not tell a difference between the two, exact same design. If you live chat a salesman on autoanything, and ask for their best price, they'll usually knock an additional 10% off or so.
