Yep, that's it. One side of mine is folded down, the other isn't. Doesn't seem to effect anything, so I don't worry about it.

Yes, but your bud has a 2nd problem since the actual mounting rail is bent up in that picture.....which I guess is what you mean when you said "issues with his tailgate alignment"?

It seems pointless to me to have it extend over the tailgate. I'm thinking about using sheet metal seamer to bend and flatten it underneath. I think that would give it q more finished look and fix the problem seen above.

Agreed. What purpose does the weather stripping serve by sitting on top of the tailgate? I trimmed mine back with a razor blade.

I have a question about the rails/track on this...

How far to they stick over the regular bed rails, and is there a chance that they could be bent?

Why I ask, my one son plays baseball, and often I can back up by the field, and my truck bed becomes a hangout spot for the family. Often kids sit on the bed rails. Is that a problem with this cover? I'm already concerned about someone snagging the latches getting in/out, but should I be worried about sitting on the rails?

Ehhh, I'm not sure you'd want folks sitting on them with the rails mounted. might as well grab a few small lawn chairs or some small tripod folding chairs (eBay) and make the bed into a true "redneck party deck". They can sit in the bed rather than on the rail.

Mine is very very very minimal, almost non existent. Even with the rear window open I can't hear it, but can see slight movement.

Mine does the same. Makes it not very enjoyable to drive around with rear window open at highway speeds, or cruising around town and hitting bumps in the road.
