Thanks for the reply Gordy. What would be the correct way to clear the error inside forscan to see if it comes back. All lights are working properly. What would I need to do to get the backup lines then?

Appreciate the support and Merry Christmas folks.

I was wondering can I just tap this location with 14 Gauge wire and run that wire all the way back to the backup camera + and - video feeds ?

That’s exactly what myself and several others have done.

awesome so you didn’t install the RCA video cable ?
the feed is fine running of the 14 gauge wire ?

then after activating on FORScan my little 4.2 screen will work with my backup camera ?

Originally I installed the RCA cable as pictured but I didn't keep it very long. Decided I would remove it and just run the cable uninterrupted all the way to the back.

Edit to answer your second question: yes, after a quick Forscan mod to "tell" your system that there is a camera installed you should be good to go. (Except for a power source to the camera of course.)

@D2Abbott I just completed the original directions to a tee and it worked awesome. Thank you so much! I used:

Reverse Backup Camera,RAAYOO L002 170 Degree Wide View Angle 2-in-1 Universal Car Front/Side/Rear View Camera,2 Installation Options,Removable Guildlines,mirror non-mirror image,12V only
Amazon Amazon

Drilled the camera into the factory tailgate handle and then tapped into the appropriate wires at the fender connector with:

GaoZo Speaker Wire To RCA Female Adapter For High-Level Signal Connection To Amp (Black/Red)
Amazon Amazon

Then dialed up the two changes in the forscan spreadsheet. Like butter!

For those of you that are hesitant to try it, it’s about as easy as it gets. I say go for it!

So I am not sure if I am pre-wired or not but it seems I could just tap into the blue harness for the camera connection assuming that I am tracing the right wires in the first place! This is a '15 XL with 4.2" non nav display FWIW.

GTRTESTDRIVER were you able to make this work? I have the same setup on my XL. I don't want to run wires from the front if I don't have to.

Default Same plug

have the same setup on my XL. Does anyone know what the gray plug is for or what number it is? I don't want to run the wires from the front if I don't have to. I am trying to verify if it has the right wires running to it.
