Default Back up lights on all the time

Just found out today my backup lights are on all the time whether I'm in park, drive, manual whatever. No clue how long this has been happening. Anyone have insight to this issue? 2016 xlt with 302a. Thanks!

Those lights can come on if a door is open or something on a lot of vehicles, check to make sure they're all closed maybe?

past that take it to the dealership for a checkup under warranty buddy.

Did some testing and found that anytime the truck is on or running the backup lights are on. When the vehicle is in reverse the backup lights are brighter ( backup camera functions as normal). Guess I'll take to the dealer...

Solved! I had recently installed my radar detector and tapped power from the mirror. Looking through the manual it says that the dimming mirror won't dim if the truck is in reverse so I tested the mirror and could not get it to dim (cell phone light to the
sensor on the mirror, covered sensor on the mirror housing). I removed my radar detector wiring and the reverse lights turned off and mirror now dims. I plugged in the radar detector again, carefully, and now everything works as expected. Some what of a dumbass move I know, but at least i figured it out before it went to the dealer.

On a side note, I made an appointment at my dealer to have the issue diagnosed (before I figured out the issue) and they were three weeks out. I wonder if that is normal for the ford dealership.

TechGuy82 - My F150 XLT was only serviced once, so far. I called on a Friday and was in the next Wednesday. That didn't seem too bad for me.
