Auto Stop even in Park?

Auto Stop even in Park?
New 2018 XLT, have had 2 or 3 incidences where the truck has gone in to auto-stop mode while in park.
I thought it was only supposed to work when foot on brake and in drive? Is this something that needs to get looked at?

It will shut off at 30 minutes of idling.

I have had it happen to me a couple times lately as well. Not concerned. It might have just been a timing thing where it was going into auto-stop as I was shifting into park.

Better yet have had mine shut off when parking in the garage and restart when putting the vehicle into park. Clearly Ford engineers have not thought thru this auto stop start thing. Today sadly no seat of the pants engineering at Ford.

I have not had mine stop while in park, but I routinely put mine into park after it stopped (so that I can take my foot off the brake) say if I am in a long line at a drive through or waiting for someone in a parking lot/driveway. I like that It will not restart when I shift to Park, but it seems to restart when I shift back to drive.

I believe this is to ensure you are reminded to shut the vehicle off.

I've had mine shut off in line at the bank or drive thru in Drive, then I'll put it in park and it will stay off (foot on the brake).
