Please educate me....why is this such a problem. I have this feature and happen to like the gas savings.

But I can inform you that disabling the seatbelt chime does not affect it.

I have noticed that a light brake foot will keep it from shutting off, as will a wheel turned past a certain point. Keeping seatbelt off doesn't always disable it.

Well for me it's just a nuisance that isn't worth it. You say you like the fuel savings but you don't even know exactly how much fuel it actually saves, I'm willing to bet in most cases the savings are incredibly minimal.

Any potential savings are offset by how annoying the feature is.

Also the low voltage drop and voltage spikes do long term damage to my audio amplifiers and therefore I absolutely don't want my engine turning off.

And through my own testing not having my seat belt buckled it disabled the engine stop every single time so not sure what you mean by it doesn't always work, I'd like to know under what circumstances does the engine turn off without a driver seat belt not buckled in.

+1...However if the jumper solution isn't working for you than you did something wrong or there is an issue with the factory harness or module. The switch itself working or not will make no difference with the jumper. The jumper is affectingly bypassing the switch so the status of the switch doesn't matter.

Forscan seems like the easiest solution if you really want it off permanently.

It does on mine. Sport mode doesn't do it, only tow/ haul.

Another to add to the list is turn the AC or heat on high.
