2.7L MPG Fluctuation!!
Couldn't be more "all over the place"... this was today's commute home. Left late.. got almost 27 MPG driving about 65 for 15 miles as you can see.. Now, put 4 people in the truck, drive 80 with a head wind and watch it go down to 13! Literally I've had trips where I get 25 with the family in it - and others where I get 13 (due to wind)... Just a HUGE difference vs. being off by 3-5 MPG which I understand. But still love the truck - and overall commute I avg about 22 usually.. and with a full size truck, that's pretty good..
Others with the 2.7 - you see that kind of fluctuation?

I'm tempted to get the 2.7 in a '16 I'm about to order...have the 3.5 in my '14 and love it. But, my mileage is fairly consistent at about 17MPG. Hate to special order a truck and then get not what it's hyped up to be.

Most weeks I get 22 commuting. The trips I take once every 3 months loaded down doing 80 - yeah it's not as great. But most of my driving is commuting.

Save the Manuals!
My MPG is also all over the place but I average right around 18 MPG according to fuelly. Best tank was 21 MPG but that was almost entirely highway driving on a trip to Virginia Beach.

I've been pretty consistent in suburban/rural and local highway driving staying around 22 mpg. Towing 3100 lbs after two trips looks like it is going to settle in around 12-12.5 mpg. Neither seem to vary much one way or the other whether I am going up/down a lot of hills or have a headwind/tailwind.

lol... 4 people doesn't really matter... but going 80 mph (vs. 65 mph) PLUS a stiff headwind matters...
all things being equal (no headwind) for me means:
65mph - ~26mpg
70mph ~24mpg
75mph ~22mpg
80mph ~20mpg
headwind/elevation gain easily knocks off another 2-3 mpg

According to hand calculation, I'm right about 21.5mpg for the last 2,600 miles for my 2.7 eco. I commute 50 miles each day, with an about a 60/40 split between highway and city. (my commute home is in stop and go traffic on half that highway stretch though, and the commute to work I average between 50-70mph).
I have noticed though, that when I look at the last 30 minutes of fuel economy displayed, the truck reports between 10mph (going up long hills, going fast, etc) and over 30mph (coasting down long hills, empty weight, light throttle driving at 55mph in 6th gear).
I did go over a 4,000ft elev mountain pass the other day and got 4mpg carrying three passengers in an otherwise empty truck. And that was at 50-60mph, lol.
