Default Apple car play vs Bluetooth sound

The quality of sound when I have my phone plugged in with Apple car play vs via Bluetooth is drastically different. Car play creates a “pingy” and unbearable treble high notes when volume is cranked up

when blue tooth is cranked up it’s much more full and better.

anyone know why?

Not my experience. Both sound great to me. My daughter loves both too.

Sounds the same for me too using android auto. But the best sound is using lossless audio files on my USB drive.

Can you tell us what source you are listening to on Bluetooth and CarPlay? (Music library, Apple Music, Pandora, some other app, etc.). In my experience, CarPlay is 100 times better than Bluetooth. Where are your bass and treble set at? At what volume level do you experience the bad sound? Does radio or CD player or usb (non-CarPlay) have the same pingy sound? Do you have the stock system? Or the Sony system?

My experience is just the opposite. A cabled connection (whether I'm using CarPlay or not) sounds better than Bluetooth in my truck. I'm playing FLAC files downloaded from Tidal in HiFi quality.

It could be your cable. Using an approved cable (apple or 3rd party) or some knock off?

My music is on iTunes with an iPhone X. Sounds great either way.

On mine, I find listening/sending text via Apple CarPlay is wayyyy clearer/better than Bluetooth.

I don't use 'Car Play' with Sync 3, but I do use the Ford applications with my iPhone using the USB cable.

I have Car Play disabled.

I use Car Play with a USB cable and the sound of streaming Apple Music is better than when I use Bluetooth.

I would say the loss of fidelity in the Bluetooth connection is actually providing a more pleasurable listening experience with your configuration.
