Installed the latest version of sync this weekend. It is version 3.4 build 22251. Did the download from cyanlabs and was pretty simple. That seems to have fixed my problem. Haven't had any issues after driving around a handful of times. Don't know why the original sync program version didn't work anymore but the program must have corrupted itself or something. Thank you all for your help.

I have a 2018 with the 8" screen. Had a new battery installed a few months ago. During the recent Texas cold snap, my screen completely stopped working. It will occasionally turn on, but 99% of the time it is dead. What trouble shooting should I try? I'll Google the CAN bus issue but can anyone describe what that is (as if I were a 5 year old)? My USB's do appear to be getting power since the lights are "blue" around the USB plug.

EDIT: Just looked up my VIN and I have a Sync update available. Will I even be able to update Sync if the screen is dead (can't see what is happening)?

any luck getting this resolved? My 2018 just had the screen go out on Sunday. Usb plugs and 12v socket also don’t work. The light around the usb plugs will come on when I hold the power/right seek button but still no power to the plugs.

Every start up after though the screen either stays black or the ford logo just keeps reloading and tweaking out with lines through the screen and what not. Radio doesn't work, usb wont work, nothing. Back up camera works right away though every time, but will cut out to a black screen for a few seconds and then comes back on every time.

I've done the reset holding the power button and the seek button and that worked for a couple days. Now that doesn't even register if the screen is black. I've checked the fuses and those are good. My next step is to try a new battery even though the current one starts the truck up right away and seems to be working fine. If the APIM was bad wouldn't everything be completely dead? I can't figure out why it works sometimes and not others. Is there anything else I should check before dropping a few hundred on a replacement APIM?

Any luck? Mine is doing the same exact thing. I have an appointment coming up, but hate to spend the money for them to look at it if I can get the download myself with a USB drive.

I would try resetting the ACM and the BCM with Forscan after performing a Master reset on SYNC. Then Id update the SYNC version. Should iron out the software side of things.
