Yes they are. I verified they are the same part number. Im 99% sure the transfer cases look exactly the same on the outside. I think the only differences are internal.

subbed aswell, so in a 4a it can go from awd to 2wd once its over a certain speed or it senses its not spinning? If thats the case that tcase is more beneficial for racing 4hi really kills top end and switching it to 2wd while running won't make the switch untill your off the gas.

Yes i built it to be a nice daily that can dead hook on street tires, believe it or not I have way more fun in my truck and get alot more races then in my boosted 16 mustang gt lol.

DeeM, your truck looks sweet!

Funnyman, thanks for confirming the driveshafts. Should be doable if the hardest part is swapping out the xfer case. Are the wiring connections the same too?

Interesting update. It seems that ford has an issue with the 4x4 switch, they are not available now and there is no ETA on availability. They even went as far as requesting a 3rd party vendor that I had bought one from to return all of their stock. So i tried a different vendor and I'm hoping they ship. I wonder if this has to do with the IWE issue?
