I’m very pleased with them. I’ve run the regular LTX M/S tires on several vehicles and have always been happy with them.
They have excellent grip, wet or dry. They are quiet and ride nice. Added bonus, they have always lasted a long time, so I’ve always felt like I got my money’s worth out of them.

I wish they had a more rugged looking sidewall, but just for aesthetics. I’ll take all the other positive characteristics over a more rugged look.

My 18 just crossed 15K and the Hankooks are still about as nice as new from a ride quality perspective, still very quiet and smooth. There are a few road sections I travel daily that reveal the not-so-great lateral wet grip, yea it's a truck... but still think it's less than an LTX, even the front end will push. Though I can't compare them to LTX directly on this vehicle, I have had gone from OEM rubber to the LTX on a 4Runner and Pilot (bridgestone and goodyear). In my daily-driving opinion, the LTX had notably better accel and braking wet traction and highway smoothness was always wonderful, but the LTX is a robust construction and a bit heavy, city street broken pavement impacts were more pronounced in both SUVs. As much as I like the LTX... I'm definitely going to consider other, better riding tires when my Hankooks are done. Certainly a good OEM though and will definitely use them till they are done.

Well.... after 4 years and ~50K miles with the OEM Hankooks I ordered a new set of Defenders online at Costco because their sale ended yesterday with ~$130 off the set. I am hoping that the Michelin tires surpass the OEMs in traction, ride and handling but I really had no complaints per se.... it was just time for new rubber for my otherwise "like new" Platinum that is trouble free..... I plan to keep it for another 5 years. Admittedly, I probably over-maintain my vehicles but I have Corvettes that need and deserve it so the truck gets the same treatment....

I was the OP on this thread and I will record here what I find after they are installed...... and, BTW, I kept inflation at about 35 PSI and plan to do the same with the new boots.... I think Costco is still using nitrogen vs. air in all their tires.... but I always just used air so that will be another "variable" LOL...... AZPLAT

I got the Michelin Defenders in a P-rated tire instead of LT. They have the same weight as the crappy OEM Goodyears that I just ditched after 38K, and are about 8 lbs per tire less than the Defender LTs. These provide a nicer ride with a slightly less stiff sidewall IMHO. Highly recommend these if you are not towing heavy...

im at 33k on my 16 and my factory hankooks 275/55/20's need to be replaced. i find they are slick in the wet (more so now than when new) and they are about worthless in the snow. not sure what to get next but hopefully a p-rated A/T.

So I bought my 16 used from a dealer with 44k on it and it just hit 64k with the original hankooks which suprised the hell out of me. Also they were down to the wear bar for the last 500 miles due to me "hotdoging" them lol. Just replaced them with Michelin Defenders and I have to say the ride quality alone is insane. It almost drives like a completely different truck now. My stopping distance and wet driving conditions have increased and that is what I am most happy about. I am just wishing they will make the 60k mile mark like the hankooks did. With lifetime balance and rotation, (also have a lifetime alignment from Firestone) they should make that mark easily.

My F150 is literally getting Defenders put on it right now so I'm glad to hear that. Plus it's snowing out so I get to test that right away.
