Anyone regret getting the 3.5 Ecoboost and wish they could trade for a 5.0?

That was a special run for the 3.5L Ecoboost as Ford complained the dyno I posted didn't live up to their hype of low rpm torque.

So Pickup trucks.com, changed the dnyo, specially tuned it to favor the Ecoboost at low rpms (which gave poor results to the 5.0L), it literally took pickup trucks HOURS to dial it in to get minimal gains of only 5# torque and a loss of 14 Hp.

Read the article here hearing how pickup trucks.com had to manipulate the dyno testing to favor the Ecoboost at low rpms! The end results were that Pickuptrucks.com found that the 3.5L Ecoboost did not offer the low end torque in the lower gears but only in the higher gears. Just as everyone has said. Even in the lower gears where the torque is at higher rpms, the Ecoboost still has about 30#s more torque than the 5.0L but only 5 more horsepower as the 1st apples to apples dyno test has proven.

Now step ahead for the 2015 and 2016 trucks where the 3.5L Ecoboost is the same but the 5.0L is now tuned for lower end torque, higher torque, and 25 more horsepower. Now the 2018 is even better with mild upgrade of 10Hp and 13 lbs torque. The 5.0L offers no less performance than the Ecoboost and is preferred by many I know, who don't live on these forums.

So the data was manipulated to favor the 3.5 over the 5.0? Thats how its done.. Thee is MORE proof Ford makes more $$ off selling the EB's and will falsify power output to fake the public into buying more EB's! Shame Ford! And it just goes to show that the 5.0 is superior to the TT v'6.. Some us 5.0 owners already know!

I always felt the extra torque at 4th gears and higher, but always felt 1-3, on my test drives, was no better than the 5.0L and actually felt less responsive. Not that it was inferior, but no better and a matter of choice and preference.

Answering the original question: No.

That is all.

Real life is usually different than inflated/deflated figures on a piece of paper. It's all BS until the rubber hits the road.

Once again I see you post something you don't understand. The eb torque is dropping at 4000 rpm , but it's still making more torque than the 5.0's peak torque all the way to 5500 rpm. Guess which if better at making power. If you were to tune the eb to make no more torque than what it is at 5500 rpm the eb would be flat all the way across and still make the same peak torque of the 5.0, so even if you handicap the eb to the torque it makes at 5500 rpm guess which one makes power better. Yes the torque starts fall below the 5.0 around the 5500 mark, but who is driving any vehicle constantly in the 5500-6000 rpm range?
