Voids which part of your warranty? If your trans takes a dump you can count on the dealer / ford to tell you running oversized tires put undue stress on the trans and it isn't covered.

You might not be able to tell the difference from stock to 33s but there is a difference. Not only will there be another size change going to 35s/37s but for each jump there is also a weight & rolling resistance increase and these things magnify each other - meaning that things will get exponentially worse the larger/heavier you go without regearing.

Before spending the money or ruling it out, ride in a truck that is geared properly - it's an eye opener.

3.31s with 37s would be PAINFUL
lulz. Thanks for the chuckle. That, mi amigo, is putting it succinctly.

I'll stick to 35s...
There is hope for our future, after all.

Indeed. Superb post, sir.

OP, the key word here is "magnify". Tire weight increases too, the larger you go.

Awlrighthen. That's enough out of me...

Running 37" tires with 3.31 gears is crazy, then again so is running 35" tires with 3.31 gears.

I have 355s and 35s and it sucks. I couldn't image 37s. The constant downshifts with any little hill drives me nuts.

Don’t go any bigger than 33’s with that gearing and motor

While he may not be setting world records at the drag strip, it wouldn't be the end of the world on a lightweight tire selection. Would the 3.73 be a better choice? Absolutely. That doesn't mean the truck ceases to function with a 3.31 axle.

I cant imagine running anything beyond 3.73's with a 5.0. With my 11 being 3.73s on 33's and my new 17' that is on order also 3.73s, I may be a bit spoiled, but it's an ideal gear ratio for a the 5.0 and 33's. If I was to running 35s, I'd most likely run 4.56's, although 4.10s would most likely be sufficient. 37s I'd be no less than 4.56s and most likely 4.88

3.31's and 35's sounds painful. I wouldn't count on the dealer honoring warranty if you should have any trans problems arise.

I used to have 3.55 gears on 37" tires. Not really a problem, but it was a 3.5 ecoboost v6 with the 10 speed auto transmission. I was on 8th gear cruising at 59mph, but my digital speedometer read 65mph. Now, I have 4.56 gears. I'm a 2wd truck with the 9.75 rear differential housing.
