I have 40% ceramic with a 20% brow stacked over it. No issues with visibility at night (HID low beams) and major improvement in light/heat reduction during the day. I haven't noticed any weird effects with polarized sunglasses either.

I'm addition to his question, what do you all do about registration stickers or toll tag antenna/stickers? Cutout around them with like 1/2" borders?
Any recommendations on brand for ceramic? Who makes the highest light %... I don't want to get in trouble or fail inspection since it's illegal in Texas....

Yeah - when you are going illegal ... why not all the way with a 93% tint. Probably really safe to drive at night with that high % tint.

I think your thinking wrong. 93 percent isn't any worse than a dirty windshield . Tint percentage is amount of light that will pass through.

You dont have a clue do you? 93% lets that much light through the tint. 5% is super dark and referred to as "limo" tint.

In most states, even those which allow tint on the front windows, ANY tint on the windshield is illegal. 70% or higher is very difficult to detect, though. As long as you're above 35% I doubt any cop would ever bother you about it unless he were really looking to get you for something.

A quick review of a tint law website. looks like only a couple states allow you to have tint on the windshield and those were 70%. Most allow a strip at the top to the AS1 line...or anywhere from 5-7 inches if no line available. Like I said, that was the general consensus.

As a traffic cop (yes, let the flaming begin) I can usually spot a tinted windshield. Even a light tint will be reflective and hinder my visibility of the driver/ interior as the vehicle approaches me.

It is your vehicle, your wallet, do what want. Just don't complain if you get a ticket.

Can you pull over people simply for the reason of their windows being to dark?
