I tapped mine off the front camera power and used a mirror tap cable from my last car. I used a Blendmount for my escort 9500xi. Pretty easy to connect following the thread below:

I have a 2016 F150 Lariat 3.5l with the technology package. I have the rain sensing wipers. If you remove the small black cover right behind the mirror you will see two connectors leading to the sensors in the windshield. One is a small white one, the other a larger black one. In the black connector you will see a purple/red wire (at least I think its red, it's so faint it almost looks like just purple) which is definitely larger in diameter than the other wires in the connector. It looks to be in the #1 spot on the connector. I tapped into this wire with a simple wire tap

I then ran the ground to the bolt through the roof cross member under the overhead console. My valentine one works perfectly. The wire is also a switched hot, so as soon as you turn off the truck, the detector shuts off automatically. It doesn't even come on with the accessory mode, only when you have engine running. I don't know if this install will work if you do not have the rain sensing wires. You need to have the sensors int he windshield and the connectors under the black cover to make it work.

If I used it every day the two (2) AA batteries would last about a month. I like the Escort Solo 2 because I refuse to run any wires. I hate having to run wires. The mount you see in the picture makes it a much cleaner setup and I can easily detach it and put it in my car.

Thanks for the help. Got this wires to fuse #36 with a fuse tap and used a blendmount to get a clean and secure look. Excuse the uncut zip tie it's all fixed now.

One of the first modifications I did was add a Blendmount for my Escort Max and a wire tap. I have the technology package. On the white plug under the cover closest to the mirror I used the black wire as ground and the yellow is switched hot.

Mirror tap wires is only 12 inches long, can hardly be seen at it only goes to cover next to mirror.

Turn truck on detector comes on, shut truck down detector powers down. Neat and clean.

The radio needs constant power because you can turn the radio on even with the truck off with no key after the 10 minute timeout just by pressing the power button. I used #36 as well for my dash cam.
