Customers watch me all the time. We have big windows on spray booths. If you've been on this forum at all, you know there are countless people that believe auto body painters simply suck, and can't do their jobs correctly. I love proving them wrong. So I don't mind customers watching me paint their car. I was nervous back when i was 18 obviously, just starting out. But now at 36 i couldn't care less.

Being on the other side of a window is different then standing in the bay with the mechanic watching over his shoulder.

Yes very different. I mean i have 5 feet between me and the customer knocking on the window, pointing, then waiting for me outside the booth asking 20 questions

Not to mention i was a combo tech( paint and body tech) for years. I've had customers watch me buff, install fenders etc. But yes. Very different i guess

Maybe Ford should use a metal pan and a proper gasket so this kind of BS wouldn't happen in the first place.

Trust me. If it weren't for the hazardous materials flying in the air in the spray booth, they would be right there with me.

Body guys are really magicians, the things they do impress me. I wish I had that talent.
It would drive me up a wall if I was spraying a vehicle and I had some dumdum pecking on the window. Must admit though, over the years I've gotten pretty good at ignoring maroons.
