Anyone else switched from a Supercab to a Crew Cab if so which one do you like best?

I think it's well known by every vehicle owner that they depreciate the most within the fist 3 years of ownership. That owning a vehicle is not an investment like a mutual fund, municipal bond and other funds minus brokerage fees.
If a single person wants to buy a Screw just because they like not need it, that's their business and more power to them.

If you guys are saying resale value on a Supercab is horrible, I guess we're really screwed with the Supercab with the 2.7 eco, versus the 3.5?

For the record, I don't dislike SuperCrews at all; Ford gives us lots of choices and I chose the one that works best for me, all things considered.
I was wrong in my first post in this thread; I thought it would be all about how 'inferior' the Supercab was. Like it should be, instead the thread is more about 'if you need the extra room, get it'.

Dont know why some of you are thinking there is no room in the back of a Scab. We just went on a 300 mile trip with 2 6' teenagers and the dog between them and had no problems.
I didnt need a crew cab, it's mostly just me or me/wife. I can put my hunting gear, golf clubs back there and I m good.
Now the Chevy scab had quite a bit less room.

I've had both and loved both. When I did construction, I had a supercab, and it suited me well. Now I want more space, so I opted for a supercrew with a 6 1/2" bed. It's really going to boil down to your needs and wants. If you need the space, get it, if you don't, then don't. Both will be a great truck. Crew Crew seem to have a higher resale value, but also cost more up front.

I have an Oxford White 2004 Scab (Roush Stage 2). My daily driver. 6' bed is helpful when I'm picking up lumber or sheet goods (plywood). Bought it new in December 2004. Awesome truck and I'll keep it until the wheels fall off. Right now at 161K miles.
It's parked next to my Oxford White 2016 Screw (Supercharged Roush). My weekend driver / toy. Love this truck. Bought in May of last year and am right under 10K miles. Gets a lot of attention at the car shows I go to (2 awards so far).
So, which do I like better? They both have their place. One is for working and the other is for fun.

I've had 3 Scabs, a 93 Silverado, 02 FX4, and an 11 XLT. They were all good trucks and the rear seat was used when necessary but 90 plus percent of the time it's just me. We now have grandkids and the car seats just wouldn't cut it for me. The front seats had to be so far ahead my wife and I were up against the dash and the kids feet were still brushing against the backs of the front seats. Even though we don't have them that often, I opted for the Screw this time and it's a night and day difference. I'm thankful for the extra cab space and when the missed bed area comes into play I'll use the utility trailer if I have to.

Well, this is somewhat of a loaded question. Since you are asking those who switched from a supercab to a supercrew, most likely the majority of answers are going to be that they like the supercrew better, after all they spent substantially more money to make the change. Those are going to be the same people that needed the extra space. A crew cab has more room....and people upgrade to more room because they need it or want to have it 'just in case'.
The supercrew is substantially more expensive, and has substantially more room and a different door design. These two designs are simply a result of Ford offering multiple options for multiple needs. For me, I don't want or need the supercrew space, expense, added length, or the big B pillar/post that comes with that cab - I just needed some extra space to stow stuff inside and to have limited back seat space for when that need occasionally comes up. Others truly need the additional space, or just want to have the most 'decked out version and/or the highest overall cabin room.' For me, I want extra space to be in the bed (6.5 bed length is perfect for me). Here in Oklahoma, I RARELY see anyone in the back seats of a Supercrew (or supercab, for that matter).
Another group don't need or want interior space behind the front seat at all; they opt for the regular cab.
