Anyone else seriously impressed with their mileage?

I have a 2019 F150 5.0V8 with 3.55’s in the rear.

With 3 kayaks in the back, ascending 1,350ft over the course of 87 miles, I averaged 22.5mpg on the LOM - or so I thought it lied!

I filled the tank on the way out of town, and when I got to my destination (Old Forge, NY) I only put 3.86 gallons of gas in. Both times I let the handle shut off the pump.

I’m in disbelief and thrilled with this truck. If anyone knows this drive, they know it’s full of hills.

I don’t know whether to blame it on the fact that I waxed it the night before or if it really does just get this good of mileage.

MPG claims are useless without average speed! You could have been driving 55mph for all we know.

Yes, these trucks are impressive. Ford pulled out all the stops in setting up the aerodynamics. I didn't realize until I replaced my horn last weekend that the upper shutter assembly covers the entirety of the upper grill. All of the flow can be redirected away from the engine bay, amazing.

Looks like the next cab has a redesign at the rear to further improve airflow. Ford has murderous intent for CAFE.

I am for sure, more with my 2019 than I was with my 2017. Only 1500 miles on it, but overall average for those miles is 20.3, and that's mostly city driving with about 4-5 miles a day on the expressway (30+ city). I do about 73 on the expressway (in a 70 zone) and city driving is 45-50 for the areas I am in depending on traffic and traffic lights. Exact same routes with my 2017 was seeing 18-19 MPG.

We took a trip to Indiana when it was at 1000 miles and I average about 23 with four adults in the truck. In all I love this Lariat and it, knock on wood, has been perfect so far.

Speed for the trip was between 45 and 70mph

Pretty easy to get good mileage over just 87 miles. I go by tankfulls mostly... So depending on what tank you have, that's in the neighborhood of 400-700 miles.

I have the 36 gallon tank, so maintaining that average I could get 810 miles - which I don’t expect to do.

I suppose you are right, it IS easy to get good mileage over 87 miles, but what impressed me was the drive I went on that STILL achieved 22.5mpg average. Full of hills and lots of slowing down and speeding up. It was a drive that with my old truck I would only get 17-18mpg.

Not really... my lie-o-meter currently shows 12.6MPG. But, that probably has something to do with my driving style...

Impressed, Yes. I drive the speed limit, mostly up and down the interstate.
