Got the ACM with HD Radio from a 2013 F150 installed and working on a 2015 MFT using the instructions from post #64 and some confidence thanks to TexasFording.
So far everything appears to be working fine. The software part was easy but mounting the ACM hit a snag that I was able to work around. The 2015 ACM has a stud on the back side that slips into a hole in the back of the dash, I think to keep it stable yet flex a bit for bounce down the road.
I bought the 2013 ACM from a salvage lot they included all the brackets that attached to the ACM one of them had this stud part but it was not in the right spot. I removed it and mounted it on the ACM to match the 2015 ACM it was a ghetto work around but it worked. You could probably pull the 2015 ACM apart and get it loose and disassemble the old one install the stud properly and it would be perfect but I only paid $25 so I took another approach and it worked. I will update you if I find issues but so far so good!!
2013 ACM with HD installed on 2015 F150
Stud on back of 2015 ACM there was a black sleeve on it I reused on the HD ACM
Cut 2 bars to insert bolt with paperclip screwed stud onto bolt and removed paperclip and added rubber sleeve from 2015 ACM worked great

I'd pass on the 2013, like i said before, you'll have issues getting it to work correctly. One of the other issues, besides the chimes not working though the speakers is you won't be able to save the presets, and the steering wheel controls won't work right. I'm pretty sure if you have Sirius in your current truck, you have HD radio.
I am sure in a couple years the price of a 2015 ACM with HD Radio will come down until then for $25 and getting the HD Radio stations that I enjoy is worth it. The chimes being routed to the IPC doesn't bother me. I have the free trial of satellite radio right now and I still prefer listing to my local HD Radio stations. Another thing to note is my Sirius satellite radio trail is still working so the EIN # must be stored in APIM so you should not lose your subscription if you swap the ACM.
TexasFording said he was able to force his chimes back to the ACM but so far I have not been successful but to me its not a big deal. Thanks for your input and you were right about the chimes.

TF,
Can you go into a little more detail on exactly how and what you're doing and checking for?
Also, when I finally got my Sync v 3.0 update to properly install (got my Gracenotes back), I now see a slider selection in my Radio settings for FM HD Radio. Maybe I never noticed it before, or maybe the update added the slider even though I don't have it? How can I tell if it's actually there? Does something look different on the radio screen?

The toggle switch is there from the update as Luke mentioned, I also noticed when I went to 2.3 and later on to 3.0.
I dont recall seeing it on 2.0 but then again its been over a year since I ran that version of sync.

Update: The chimes are coming from the instrument cluster since the swap. The presets and the steering wheel controls are working fine. The chimes are really not that big of a deal to me, I still get them, they just are not as loud which is kinda nice. The radio still reduces the volume when the back up sensors activate so I do hear the chimes.

I know this is old, but just as an aside, my AM radio has quit working and my FM was not great so I wanted to see if it was the ACM. I found a 2015 Ford Fusion ACM on eBay for $16 with Sirius and AM/FM, but not HD to test my theory that the ACM was bad. The fusion radio worked perfectly, but it would be a pain to fit in there because of that stud in the back. All the HD radios for the F150 have been minimum $250-$300 so I looked at the expedition ones. They appear to be identical with the stud and everything.
I bought one on eBay for $100, so I will report back if it works. That would be another route for those that want to swap out the ACM.
