Mine rattles on decel cold, and has the normal noise associated with DI engines, but no oil usage as of yet. Engine runs very strong and smooth, just over 5k miles now.

i have developed the acceleration whistle...sounds like a quiet turbo...lol. Almost sounds like something is leaking in the intake tract, it only happens under load, never in park. I haven’t bothered to mess with it yet.

2018 5.0 owner here and my first Ford. My #1 annoyance right now is that I had it updated due to the rattle.. rattle didn't go away and now it clunks. The clunk I have diagnosed as the IMCR runner flapper changer. If you unplug the front of the intake manifold (just to test).. then test drive it. No clunk!! Plug it back in (check engine light will turn off after a bit of driving). Ford put a new intake manifold on it, clunk still there. Their stupid update generated a NEW problem. I'm taking it to a dealer an hour away tomorrow and I'm leaving it. I refuse to pick it up until its fixed or they buy it back. Take a truck in and they generate a NEW problem on top of the problem you had? The hell with that! This clunk drives me nuts, especially when towing or going up a hill.

Jumped ship from a 16 Silverado to my current '18 5.0 after being annoyed by some things on the Chevy. I've since realized they were not that bad. Right from the start it had the off throttle rattle and a weird, sporatic high pitch whistle under the hood while off. Then it got the knock and now it's chugging oil. Almost to 1 qt consumed in 1k miles so it'll most likely get a new powerplant.

Aside from that, I love the look, color and 5.0 power. If a new engine takes care of that stuff, then great. My only concern is how bad the Carfax will look and hit I'll take whenever I go to sell it.

Or you got your bumper to bumper full warranty extended to 5 years and 75,000 miles?

I've seen a few on here post about getting warranties extended but if it's still really only covering what you already have covered...whats the benefit?
The issue at hand is a powertrain issue...involving the engine.
They gave me the Premium Care extended service plan. 5 years, 75k mile.

I don't think a TSB repair goes into CarFux. It's a manufacturer's update. Pretty sure they are usually generated by insurance companies and not always reported anyway.

Besides...you fanboys have taken over those other threads and they've all gone to crap.

Heads up everyone...the fanboys get their sphincters puckered up when anyone talks negatively about anything Ford.

Although...gregypoo here really dislikes the B&O sound system in the new F150s...even tho he doesn't have one!
hilarious

If were in a position to have to keep a vehicle past 3 years (warranty period). Would Corsa dual exhaust it, let the tick noise be if Ford says its normal.
Ole out of site out of mind...

Probably it would just left to more people like you who think they are smart by making snide remarks.

Even more likely, it would be left to people who actually add substance to the threads, instead of patting themselves on the back for their purchase decision that is not related to any of the threads they interject themselves into.
