Looks like an XLT Sport, painted bumpers, 5 bar grill, non painted mirror caps.

There are things on the truck I wish it had, but there's no perfect veh. Esp. If you're a tinkerer.
I posted a thread on why I got rid of my previous trucks. If you cared to read it, you'd know the answer and wouldn't have to ask why here.

The reason I put "Trim stuff" on my XLT (not the lowest trim by the way-which I'm sure you know) is because I liked the look of the Platinum. However, I can't justify paying $20k more for the truck just because I like the wheels and the grille. Also, I'm not "trying to upgrade". I've already done it.

If you're happy with your truck, great. I'm happy for you. But I'd give you the same advice I'd give the person that posted this to Facebook: Just because it's $50k don't be mad when you don't get the same quality you would from a $50k SUV or car.

I just think Ford is trying to get too much out of one truck. These trucks are all made in line. No separate plant or line for the "luxury models". Call me cynical but if there are 5 XLs and 1 Plat being built, I don't expect the XLs to have Platinum quality. The only thing separating them are the same "Trim stuff" you mentioned earlier. Any XL can look like a Platinum. Underneath it all they are the same truck.

Sorry to interrupt your thread OP. I'll apologize for the person I quoted as well since this has nothing to do with the thread.

I can assure you that plenty of our friends that own very high end cars ride in our Platinum and are MOST IMPRESSED with the trim, ride, comfort and spaciousness (front and especially rear) of our Cowboy xxxxx......fill in the blank!! With our hard painted tonneau, it is a monster of a trip machine, ready to carry passengers and plenty of luggage with a reasonable gas economy....especially with our 36 gal. tank.

We all have to decide the right price point for us based on budget, values etc. but I feel that there are features on our Platinum that compare positively with all but the most expensive and exotic vehicles out there.....at a far more reasonable price than many....and with a decent residual value. Of course I would like to have a price point more like $30-40K for a high end F-150, but when you look at the 2015 from a distance.....especially compared to the truck competition, well....we have some pretty beautiful and fine machines, don't you think!?

Back to the topic of the thread, I cannot imagine what stopped the selling dealer from "doing the right thing" in taking care of their customer, but sometimes it is a two way street as to what is reasonable. Too bad the owner had to resort to a banner to get a fair dialog with his/her dealer.....

Next year they may have 0% for 84 months? Wait till ya see those new truck prices!!

Then again, perhaps the owner has contacted the right people, had the service escalated and hit a wall? Several people on this forum has had their dealer step in and make it right, apparently his dealer is pushing back saying its warranty! Dealer is correct, and according to the contract the dealer has with Ford, the manufacturer, Ford covers the warranty. Actually no dealer has to step up and make it right! But there are always a few good ones who step up and make it right, and take the problem off of the consumers hands.

It's a manufacturers warranty and that goes back to Ford. Only one instance have I seen a vehicle damaged, maybe two, where the dealer stepping up to make it right, was/is actually warranted.

And then you've some calling him names, hell he didn't even post the photo to this website?

He definitely has a problem with his truck, and it's not the wrong color floor mats!

I see it as an advantage. My $25k truck has the same quality as a $60k truck.

Oh and the guy with the banner on his windshield just seems like a dick. Don't expect any help from your dealer or Ford after pulling a stunt like that.

If nobody bought the first year production, there would be no second year production.
With the number of trucks Ford has built over the many decades, first year problems should be rare. Surely they will get it right soon.....

Eventually, maybe, Ford will up it's game and make these trucks actually worth that much money but they truly are not. I blame available financing. If people couldn't "afford" these trucks they wouldn't have that price-point.
I'd be curious to hear some examples of what you're talking about. Everyone I run into with the new trucks seems to really like them. If it matters, I traded in a $75k BMW X5 on a $58k Lariat and couldn't be more pleased with the quality.

Just one data point from my BMW: they recommend replacing the battery at every oil change--that's every 10k miles, at $3-500 per. Can only be done at the dealer due to the computer coding procedure.

I'll take the latest Ford quality any day of the week.

Default Anybody see this yet? 2015 owner calling out dealership

Well... If the truck fell off a cliff he could just claim insurance right? I mean so it rained pretty hard and the gravel under it gave way during the camping trip...
