Anybody regret trading in their old truck on the new one?

I traded a fully loaded 2002 Z71 Avalanche that I built into a fun sport truck - 285 hp to 475- that I owned for 14 years. Best truck I ever owned. I really like my 2015 3.5 eco Lariat Supercrew FX4. The amenities that were developed in 14 years are nice.
The one thing I really miss is the versatility of the bed on the Avalanche. It was nice to be able to transform from a 5'1" bed to an 8'3" bed in a matter of seconds, then be able to carry hardware enclosed under the bedcovers. I was even able to do this with 10' lumber by putting it on the console and sliding it up toward the dash. By contrast, the 5'6" bed on my F-150 is just too short for anyone who actually uses a truck as a truck on a regular basis. I compromised with the 5.5 bed over the 6.5 bed because I wanted to be able to fit the truck in the garage, the Supercrew with a 6.5 bed becomes a little unwieldy to drive, and won't fit in many parking spaces. I really like the extra cab space in the Supercrew but next time around (if we are still allowed to drive 14 or so years from now ) I will probably elect to go with a Supercab and 6.5' bed.

Once the sour taste of the sales experience is gone, I've no regrets.

I traded my 17' Nissan Pro4x for a 17' F150 lariat 501a pkg. Needed more room for kids and grand kids. Only thing I miss is being able to park truck in garage. Maybe it's time to trade in the house.

Traded my 2012 Lariat SCREW 3.5 eco short bed on a 2017 Lariat SCREW 3.5 eco with 6'5" bed with 502A group. I'm so happy with the longer bed and it's paid dividends several times with that extra length. I would never go back to the short bed after having this one.
I must say my 2012 was almost flawless for the 5 years I owned it. Can't say the same for my 2017 which was leaking oil at 3000 miles. Haven't experienced the "frozen locks" problem so I don't plan on doing anything unless it happens.
Bottom line I can tell the difference in power between the first generation Eco and the new Eco Gen II coupled with the 10 speed. Love it and have had ZERO issues with the new tranny. I like some of the new features in my 2017 and get a kick of changing colors with the interior ambient lighting. Also haven't had any inside leaking issues and hope it stays that way.
Over all the only thing I'm annoyed with was Ford changing to a CHEAP crappy plastic oil pan!! Hopefully mine is now repaired but only time will tell.
I can honestly say I have no buyer remorse and I got an outragious deal trading up to my 2017........

Traded my 2011 Lariat Screw 6.2L (80k miles) short bed max tow on a 2018 Lariat Screw 3.5L eco 10spd with 6'5" bed, 502A, max tow. The 11 gave me no trouble but I wanted to get rid
of it while it was still worth something. So far 7000 miles on the 18 and no trouble so far, the only thing I miss from the 11 were the directional and closable dash vents. I was nervous that
it wouldn't tow as nice as the 6.2 but I've been pleasantly surprised.

Traded in a 2013 Ram R/T that was the part/ Muscle truck I had wanted for a long time. Yes I needed the 4-doors and better tow capacity but I really loved that truck. I even tried everything I could to make it work keeping both trucks but I just couldn't do it.
My Screw is nice and I do like it a lot. It just feels more common driving around than the Ram was. Oh well.

I wish I kept my 13. Was nothing wrong with it and it would be paid off. Damn vehicles are a huge expence in life if we are careless. I digress.

I came from a perfectly great 14 fx4 5.0 / 502a with only 45,000 miles on it. To a 2018 Lariat 5.0 / with the 502a.
I missed my 14 the first day, but almost two weeks into this one, I've pretty much stopped comparing the two. I like this new truck.
The 10 speed has a tiny learning curve and the first mod I'm doing is putting a rear sway bar on again.
I know it's a lighter truck, but that sway bar maked a significant improvement with the wallowing effect when turning full left or right, onto another road.
At least the other one did. We'll see.

I like my old truck so much that I kept it. It's a '91 Dodge diesel regular cab and it still gets the same 31 mpg it always has. The bodywork has a few minor issues and the air conditioning quit years ago, but it's perfect for doing the rough work that I really don't want to do with my '16 XLT. I have a huge backyard so it sits there out of the way. Biggest problem with the Dodge is that it's not a hop-in-and-go vehicle in the winter time and has to be plugged to start, so it's useless for sudden-need situations. We've had another warm winter again and our coldest day was only -29°F (the XLT cold-started like a champ) but if we ever got down to normal winter temperatures of -40°F the Ford would need to be plugged in like most other vehicles. Only items replaced under the hood of the Dodge has been oil and air filters and a new battery every 6 years. Guess I did replace the alternator in '15 but after 385,000 kms I didn't mind that. Engine has never needed work and its never had trouble with the ceramic intake heater nor its relays. Geez, it still has the original exhaust pipes and muffler !!
Yeah, I love both my trucks for different reasons.
