Default Anybody have hood deflector on there f150??

Do these actually benefit for protection of the front of the hood?? What are the advantages of having one?? I've never been a real fan of the looks of them but my new truck is black and figured the shield would blend in and look better than it would on any other color truck. All my gm trucks in the past always would get chips down to raw metal where the shield would have been mounted . Any feedback from ow era would be most appreciated. Also which brand and style you guys suggest as well. Thanks

Quite a few brands like AVS, EGR, PUTCO, OEM Ford, rugged ridge. Also if you guys are familiar with love bugs in the south parts of the US at how bad they are on paint and windshields wonder how well the deflector would help glow air up to prevent as many from hitting the windshield

Have a weather tech. Love mine. Got showered with gravel on the interstate. Pitted the windshield. Got the front too. Not a scratch on the hood.

I got a lot of rock chips in the future will probably go with 3m covering the entire hood. I touched up the paint chips and added the AVS Aeroskin II Hood Protector. I was not sure if I would like it since I am not a fan either of the hood guards but overall I like the look.

I bought a clear one with every intention of painting it Silver on the back side to match. After test fitting it I decided it blends in just fine.

I like this one, practically invisible! I wonder if it would blend in on a dark color? What brand is this one?

Sorry, I was going to look that up before posting and forgot.
It blends in quite well. The sports are obviously from being dirty but when it's clean it's nice.
