Max Tow will show up as "Trailer Tow Max Duty" on the ETIS listing. I've got a max tow, standard payload (7050 GVWR) screw that shows "Trailer Tow Max Duty" as well as "H/D Dual Front Shock Absorbers" and "Heavy Duty Rear Shock Absorbers".

I always assumed there were only two tow packages, trailer tow and max tow. Equipment package 6 is there too, what does that consist of?

The original owner definitely special ordered this truck. I didn't know you could get it with "Less Tailgate Badges-2nd Level" also.
The DSO on the jam sticker is blank, but it does seem like it has a few items on it that were hard to find when I was shopping.

A lot of ideas so far but it certainly seems like our arms are kind of up in the air on this one.

History on the truck is that it was a contractor in Quebec that owned it first, an MN dealer bought it at an auction. It was imported to Ohio and switched from KM to Miles and certified. The original owner put a very nice snow tire on it that you can't get in the US. I kept them for winter but because of the sensors, I have to run them over inflated. I'm for sure looking into the forscan thing.

I may be incorrect about this but my 15 3.5 eco screw lariat also listed tow package. after I bought the truck I noticed it did not have a brake controller. after not realizing it did not have I asked my dealer about the tow package and why it did not have. he said some guys use their own setup and that I had to order the max tow which the controller was installed and that was the only difference.

Yes, that is correct. The Max tow package includes the TBC. it also includes a few other things different from the Tow package. Max tow has an upgraded front stabilizer bar, auxiliary transmission oil cooler. The rear bumper and springs are also heavy duty. Someone here posted pictures of the difference in rear bumpers on here many months ago.

Look at page four, with the silver truck and boat at the top. There's a chart on the left side that breaks down the different packages.

Yup Max Tow is equipment package 53C. So a max tow has upgraded rear axle and bumper, TBC, and 36 gallon fuel tank. I'm package 53A.

How do I know which trailer tow package my truck is equipped with?

It came from the factory with 245/70/17 load range E tires, why have that on a standard load/towing truck?

Why is my TPMS set for 55PSI (+/-) 5psi or so?

I hate the way it rides with 50 PSI in the tires, but I can't run below 49 or my low tire light activates.

When I inquired about getting lower load range tires installed the dealer said the truck is supposed to have LR E's for this "special" package kinda like a heavy half. Like said before, nothing really jumps out at me except the weirdness of having HD tires on a SD truck.
Dont ever listen to a "dealer" aka salesman. They didn't want to swap the tires. If u don't like the tires, swap them for some OEM takeoffs. People love to sell those extra cheap. Have the dealer re flash the TPMS. Be happy.
