Annoying Clicking Rattle Sound In dash Area Ariund Windshield?
Anyone else have or had this problem on 2015-2017 F-150 mines a 2017 if that matters? It also seems to be worse over expansion joints in the road.Taking it in Monday for oil change and tire rotation so let me know so I can let the Service Writer know what the fix was if you've had this problem. Thanks

You can check a couple of things.
A)The plastic cowl outside/bottom of windshield was not snapped in correctly one mine. (when I first got the truck)
B) Under the the cowl, as described above, one of the bolts that attaches the wiper motor assembly had a stripped bolt so there was up/down play. Grab the wiper arm at the very bottom see if there is in/out movement. If so replace bolt and nut.

I was messing around with the upper console where the sunglasses go and the dome light switches.... I noticed that the headliner and the plastic in front that connects to the rearview mirror made a ton of noise when I barely touched the top.
Check that area. That may be the plastic clicking popping noise you are hearing from the windshield area. I would like to put some felt or foam padding up there to make it quiet.

My 18' developed a small rattle driver side dash sounds more towards the windshield. At first could bare it now annoying as hell. Mine sounds like a loose wire hitting under the dash not sure how much I trust my dealer to fix this.

Update mechanic took the truck for a ride said he thought he heard the noise, took another ride with me in the truck to see if it was the same noise he heard it was. It's the plastic cowl cover between windshield and hood,he pushed up and down in the middle of it where the drivers side piece and passenger side piece overlap and it made the noise while I was in the truck with windows up and no music on!!He did put some some black windshield butyl under the black plastic clips that were hitting each other when flexing up and down causing the noise it's 70-80% better then it was!!!

Thanks for taking the time to post an update. I had an older car that had this same problem, and it's crazy how much noise that panel can make.
