Interesting, mine updated last night also, when I checked the version I have 2853. Wonder what the difference is. Also don’t have the new version although someone mentioned a permission not set and it not working, which I will have to look at.

i uninstalled this morning and then reinstalled, still version 2853. I wanted to make sure all the permissions were on. But I did find when you go into the settings for Android Auto under the general settings, the first choice is the Try the New Android Auto.

I am on the same version, 4.5.592854-release, with the new UI. Perhaps it will take a few days for google to roll out the option to everyone, if my directions do not work for you.

Mine won't show the new version either, I've deleted and reinstalled it, everything I can think of. I'll just wait it out.

Don't know if it had anything to do with it, but the "Try new version" did not show up on my phone until I connected it to the truck via USB....and there it was!

It will show up once you plug your phone into the USB port.

So my AA updated last night. Got in this morning and plugged phone in as usual, put it in reverse, got a notification on my smart watch that there was an AA update and I needed to put it on my truck screen to do it, or something, when out of reverse it went to normal old AA.

Tried plugging unplugging phone, key cycled truck while parked a couple places, etc, still the old interface. Huh

I got the update on June 24th, and can't get the try new AA. I've uninstalled/reinstalled a few times, but all it does is remove the "update". I think this might have to do with my Pixel 3XL shipping with it as a default app?

I love the pictures of the *new* interface, just wish I'd see them on the 8in display.

Did you check what version of AA it is? I don't think it would be the same version we are referring to - It was just released earlier this week.

Update in the Play Store appeared for me last night. Downloaded it and went to bed.

Plugged into the truck this morning and pressed the button to use updated version. New version pulls up on display and looks great, awesome!
Then about 10 seconds later AA shuts off and display returns to Sync. WTF? Unplug phone, plug it back in and AA pulls back up only to immediately shut back off and go back to Sync.

Uninstalled and reinstalled AA but still doing the same thing. When I get home I'll see if Sync has an update that I've missed but not hopeful.
