My phone (LG G5) was working fine with android auto. Now it works but the voice assistant isn't working properly. If I say call "", it keeps saying, "fine, but when it's safe disconnect the phone and tap the notification to allow contacts." I've already selected on my phone what to do when connected with a USB (the option to share information, contacs, etc., not just charge).

Anyone know how to correct this?

Bring up the permissions options for the Android Auto app on your phone, and enable Contacts.

What are the advantages of using Android Auto? Just curious.

Google maps on your screen. Unlike apple maps, google maps offers offline mode. Imagine you can just download any area off wifi save it to phone.
This is useful for areas with limited cell service or if you want to minimize data use. Wish apple maps had that functionality. Only issue is that once vehicle is moving it locks you out, so you would have to stop to enter and address.

Thanks goingGonzo, I checked and all my permissions were allowed? I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, will try and see if that helps.
