Even if I made $200k, I think I'd still have a hard time paying even $45k for a vehicle.

More than likely a major factor is that most making over 200k a year are small business owners and that often requires a truck.

Witj the growing popularity of crew cabs the last 15 yrs, trucks really are the best do-everything, all-purpose vehicle. Run to the grocery store, pick up lumber from Home Depot, tow the boat to the lake on the weekend, take the family on vacation, and use it to help run your business.

My guess is because you can afford more toys to haul.

There was an article several years ago that actually said FORD in general is the most popular brand for people making over $200k. My best friend is an MD and after her got rid of her BMW during residency, he has owned nothing but FORD for the last 10 years. He's on his 4th one.

I had a Range Rover and hated throwing money away on BS 'maintenance'. My logic was, F150s are very popular, must be a reason. While looking at F150s I discovered the Raptor. I wouldn't trade my 48k Raptor for my 95k Rover.

nah. it's all perspective.

for me, its practicality. i need a semi luxury vehicle to fit in to take people to lunch, etc. while having interior room. Had an xlt before and the cloth got stained from "using" the truck and I cant have seat covers bc they look redneck.

$40-45k for a semi luxury vehicle w/ 4x4 and 4A that has great resale, etc helps make this truck a good fit for professionals that make over a 1/4 mill. At my work there are about 25 F150s out of 300 parking spaces occupied by VPs, SVPs and EVPs. Pay is 200k - 5M.
