Amazon LED Bulbs
So all this talk about led bulbs and what not made me want to swap over. But didn’t want to be that guy throwing a crazy pattern blinding people. So after a ton of looking and research I settled on a pair of tech max mini led bulbs . High and low’s.
very satisfied for less than $100 for both. Low beam https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...7ce693382.jpeg low pattern https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...25724544e.jpeg High beams(Bambi mode) https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...0f5b54c4a.jpeg |
That's what I went with too. They have worked great for me!

I put these in the fogs the other day, and really like them.
I did the “easy headlight mod”, putting stronger halogens in the stock high/ low beams, and together seems to be a good compromise for me. I drive a narly commute over 130 miles through upstate NY where some parts get 400” of snow a year. I am concerned that the LED lights will not heat up the lens enough. |
Cant find any info on what Cree chips they used. Phillips Z ES chips fall within the filament width spec for halogens at 1.6mm, and are available in a number of bulb styles (fan, heatsink, mesh).

Based on the pictures they look better than my factory LED headlights, seems to travel further...I feel like mine would have stopped lighting the road at the first white sign. The high beams look like they go further but don't light as wide as mine.

Dave, could you be so kind as to provide a link to your high and low beam bulbs? Thank you!

Same camera, same setting for different lights offers some comparison, but we still can't see a lot of detail in images that is present in person. The oem reflector housings have a decent enough pattern, but the oem bulbs, though... output appears pretty low for a 1250 lumen bulb. A lot of light is wasted (assumed in the housing, as heat) so a high output LED bulb doesn't over-saturate the road. |

I'm running the same bulbs and I've been quite impressed by them. Mine are actually the Sinoparcel mini, but as far as everyone can tell, they are same as Techmax:
I also decide to make this easy modification to improve them: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/led-h...0/#post6080187 |
I've also done my own testing based on Bulbfact.com top 2 low beam, Hikari and Nineo. Basically Hikari you'll need to adjust the up/down but once I put in the Nineo, they're perfect and no adjustments were needed. I ended up keeping the Nineo. In a few month, I'm going to try to put in the 9005 as fog (I believe there's minor cutting on the tab in order for it to fit)
