Default Alarm keeps going off without good reason

I have a recently purchased 2016 F-150 King Ranch that intermittently sets of the factory alarm -- without any obvious cause. I have tried to reset the alarm to "perimeter only" but it seems to automagically reset to "all sensors".

Any thoughts on why this is continually getting tripped? or any suggestions on fixing the sensor setting to be permanent?

2016 F150 3.5L 4x4 -- no known mods other than FORSCAN "bambi mode", auto fold mirrors, turn signal count (5).

You have to select perimeter only EACH time.

Will be trying to locate the shock sensitivity setting on my truck -- or else going to dealer to program to less sensitivity.

Tape over the sensors in the cab with electrical tape for few days and see if it stops. If it does you have a clue where the issue is coming from. It it doesn't then it is likely something else.

Followed the instructions shown in that other thread - mine was turned all the way up. Hope it helps! FYI, mine was located under the dash behind the parking brake. No need to remove any panels to access it.

It seems mine has the "programmable" sensitivity setting. But I also noticed a dealer-installed system with a flashing green LED and spliced into the harness under the center console/dash -- I wonder if that somehow messed up the factory system?
Is there any easy way to remove that? or is this another trip to the dealer?

I had bought a 2019 f250 and had the same problem with it. I just figured mine out and it was using the lock button on your key fob. It started 4 days ago and I remembered that I had clicked on the lock button 1 time after the the horn sounded and that is when it was going off about 1 every 4 to 5 hour. The next day I did the same thing and then it went off about half hour to an hour all the time. So yesterday I had clicked on the lock button again, 1 more time after the horn sounded (so 3 times) and I have not heard it go off since. No clue as to why that was the issue, but it's not going off anymore.
Just had to give my two cents worth. Maybe it will work for you!!

I had something like this happen on a Honda minivan, turned out to be the hood latch sensor went bad and would set the alarm off. Might be something to look at.

On my BMW, if you click the lock button on the remote a second time it disables the interior motion sensors. I have not idea if pushing the lock button more than once on a Ford does anything.

+1 for this! My 2018 Lariat was doing the same thing. I spent a few days trying to troubleshoot why the alarm kept randomly going off til one day I noticed a hood ajar message pop up quickly and then disappear while driving. The next day the sensor completely failed and hood ajar message constantly on. Took to dealership and sure enough sensor gone bad. Hood latch assembly replaced under warranty and I have not had an issue since with the alarm going off.
