Al Meyer Ford selling unsafe brand-new trucks
#31
Aesthetic preferences aside, I personally find it interesting that a dealer would so heavily modify a truck so as to be significantly less safe. So I don't necessarily share the visceral negative response that a lot of the commenters have had against pointing it out. At the very least, the debate here has left me a little more informed.
Also, it bears mentioning that even if there hasn't been widespread enforcement, a vehicular deaths are a tough way to learn a lesson about lax enforcement. Doesn't seem like the worst thing in the world to point out what's going on and let the educated consumers (you guys) discuss.

Texas Transportation Code 621.201 - Maximum Width: https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/D...21.htm#621.201
You can argue the semantics of the definition of "load", but I know people who have been stopped and cited for this very offense.
You can also have fun with DRW trucks... which require mud flaps. The width of the mud flap must be equivalent to the width of the tire/wheel assembly... so if they have tires/wheels beyond the body, they must similarly have mud flaps (which looks ridiculous).

On another forum I frequent I'm currently the bad guy for expressing a 225 stretched on to a 10" rim not only looks stupid but is extremely unsafe.

You bros don’t like these bro’d our trucks? Some bro said horrendous, I think you mean bro-rendous. These trucks will never tow or haul anything, except bro-tato chips and bro-e-o cookies from Walmart. I’m suprised they don’t have tow mirrrors. If they did, they’d always be out cuz these trucks pull so many chicks.

They can sign waivers all day long. When one of these trucks wreck and kills someone, FORD
will be brought into the charges. Ford blue oval is plastered all over the dealership, paperwork,
parts, etc. Ford will be charged
