Air leak on freeway and door alignment issues

It sure is starting to look that way. Canceled my spray in line X appointment and have my brand new retrax mx pro bed cover sitting in a box in my garage next to my Manley fiat 500 rental car. Not doing anything to the truck until we get this all worked out. What ever that looks like?

The issue is that the tricks of the trade that body men have used for decades can't be used on the aluminum body. Steel Doors being out or on the edge of production tolerance could be bent or twisted for a correct fit. Steel fenders could be spooned and so on. You could line everything out in a short time without any damage to the vehicle. The aluminum doors are what they are. For example. If your aluminum front door is out on top and out on the bottom but flush in the center when compared to the rear door or cap, you will only fix that by replacing the door. And this is where we fall into a trap..... On a 4 door, which door is really the problem? You could order 20 doors before you get 2 that have a perfectly matching contour from top to bottom. Then.... OMG, they don't match the cab or a pillar.

This "all new" aluminum crap is quickly becoming over rated. I'm thinking the American manufacturers need to do their homework or better yet, stick with steel.

The 2015 is a great truck. Note: I said "truck". Spending 40 to 60k doesn't change the fact that you bought a TRUCK. When you buy a truck you get truck fit and finish. If you wanted high end luxury car fit and finish..... You should have bought a high end luxury car.

Huh? Spending 60k means we have to sacrifice quality in a vehicle? Please disappear from the human race, you sir, need to go away. Period!

Sorry, but I'm actually a professional in this field. Doesn't matter to me if you don't like what I posted. Until Ford makes a dedicated effort to push luxury levels of fit and finish across the F150 line you will get truck tolerances to accepted industry standards. Don't confuse what I'm posting with a suggestion that you shouldn't have issues addressed.
