How about sound aspect?

There's definitely an increase in turbo whistle and airflow sound. I love it.

Read my previous post (#5), this applies to throttle body size also. If you increase the throttle body diameter, you decrease the air velocity entering the engine, which will decrease performance.

This is the ONLY real reason that I bought the Full Race CAI for my ecoBoost. The looks of it also help when your at a meet with the engine bay on display.

you can certainly install a different air intake. Whether or not its an upgrade is a different question.

Cold Air intakes are a great modification, just don't expect all advertising HP gains. They will pay dividends coupled with a true custom tune with any of the programmers ie SCT, Diablo, HP tuners, not chips and not the stock canned tunes that come pre programmed on the programmers. As far as filters go the dry filter technology has come a long way and have very low maintenance, oiled filters do have more of a performance value, but high maintenance. The bigger throttle bodies and even t-body spacers are a complete waste of money, they are an utter waste. We only use them on crazy big boosted builds. We have done all of these comparisions on our in house dyno. If you all have any questions just shoot me over a PM I will be happy to help.

Thank You

Careful, you'll confuse the naysayers with dyno proven facts.
