Default Air Conditioner....Not Impressive

This is the 1st new vehicle I've had since the 97 F250....and went from that truck into the F150 Lariat.....

Had a chance to turn the AC on today....less than impressed....right at 80* outside and the truck never got cold...semi cool yes, but not cold...old truck would get icy cold....heck, we were in Death Vally in July one year in the old Powerstroke diesel & inside the truck we were shivering it was so cold....

Why is the AC so anemic or is there something wrong with it????

I've never really had to blast the AC yet but my truck maintains a constant 68 with no problem at all.

The cooled seats really work well to.

Maybe there is something wrong, or maybe I just haven't needed the extreme cooling you're looking for.

AC Freon just probably low and not serviced correctly at the factory

Did not "need" to get icy cold...just comparing the 2 is all. Will ask the dealer about it, but want to bet they stick a thermometer in a vent with it on and say it get's as cold as it should.

Tell the dealer to check to make sure the actuator is completely opening and closing the recirculation door in the HVAC. If it's not, then warmer (outside) air may be mixing in with the cooled air.

Have you put it on MAX AC (the button with the round arrow/circle)? This should close the recirc door completely and re-cool cabin air without bringing in any fresh (warm) air.

Welcome to the ****ty A/C Club!

Ford OPEN YOUR EYES!!!

A local member to me sees 42-45* vent temps when it was 92* outside.

Today it was 66*,raining and dark sky's due to the rain and best I got was 45*. On 80-90* days I see 48-52* temps.

Yep, had it on max the entire time, was curious to see how it worked.

Have read somewhere the coolant they use is not nearly as good as freon, but have no idea if that's true or not.

The AC sucked in the 13 and 14's too. Man I'm going to get a tundra. You guys are at the dealer more than you are on the road. Was it worth it??

Might be a silly question, but since you came from a 97...

Is the light on the "AC" button on? Sometimes I do something that turns it off on accident but it still blows out air.

If the light isn't on, hit the button!
