I would still report it to NHTSA, you may get a call from Ford.

Do not ever get old!! I remember that after changing rotors and pads on a 928 Porsche the same thing happened. The parts were after market. Seemed there was a problem with how the pads were positioned in the calipers. Have you tried putting the original parts back on?
