Default MY power fold tower mirror install 2017 XLT w/302A pkg & Blis

Then routed into the truck under the door seal which just pulls out , used some foam padded under door seal to keep from cutting wires. Tie-wrapped to the outside of the boot. Covered wires from frame side boot to door with black duct tape.

Decided on find location for the fold switch; ordered a rocker switch mount which was going to try to locate on left wide just under the IPC. Found out today the rocker switch TR provided is not standard size rocker switch - a few mm smaller in width and height . The switch and wiring harness is fairly long so limit number of places to mount.
My TR Fold Switch install:
Drilled 3/4" diameter hole in dash - remove IPC trim and drilled on this on bench, reinstalled and drilled thru 2nd dash piece - area is clear behind these dash pieces. Keep dash hole at minimum size so green plug would just slide thru and if later date decide to remove power folding tow mirrors and related wiring I can install 3/4" snap in plug!
Found a black plastic box that allowed me to mount the power switch sideways. Notched box with Dremel to slide in provided switch - cut box off with scroll saw to overall length of 1 5/8 inches - mounted box w/switch using two side tape!!

Did you run the wires outside the boot in the door jamb?

see link below, post 1079/ 1080 show how to get the door boot off. I haven't done it yet, intact whenI ran stereo wires I went with the stock wires as I couldn't get the dang boot off... anyway after the fact I saw those posts and found it comes off easy once you see the secret trick

Yes, there is autodim on OEM tow mirrors, but only for the driver side. I have factory installed OEM on my 2016 Lariat with autodim. No model has right side autodim according to all specs I've seen.

You can check a driver's mirror by looking at it. There is a line just inside from the edge that looks like someone put an overlay on the mirror. That is the area of autodimming. Also autodim only works when the light sensor determines it's dark enough for lights with automatic setting to work.

Had to check to make sure, the exterior mirror auto dimming is actually controlled by the interior mirror auto dimming.

Unless your truck already has autodim, I'm pretty sure it won't work. You need the autodim circuit in the truck for it to work.

Just go to 1aauto.com and do a search from their main page putting your info in. Then find parts, hit m and go down to mirrors.
