Interested too!
My fiance's brother has a Chevy Cruze, and the keyfob for that is 1000x nicer than the one for my 150.

late to the party.
1) I want to still keep the spare key in there. My explorer and F150 have similar fobs and when the battery on the fob dies or goes wonky it's good to have that piece of metal in there.
2) all metal housing might pose an issue with radio range - but you could potentially fix that with a dedicated antenna spot on the body. I'm not an RF engineer but I'm sure there's one around here. Look at the ends of all metal cell phones like the LGv20 for example. The antenna is in the back shell and is in a plastic inlaid loop. worked great.
3) while carbon fiber might be cool to some most don't know the difference. Dyed fibreglass matting looks the same especially if woven mat. or you know applique pieces.
4)I would like color options - IE fob in ruby red metallic like my F150. and I'm ok painting it myself if need be. I mean I assume here we would have to take apart a fob and cannibalize it for the new device. you aren't making a from scratch circuit board.
I dig the idea of a profile fob. a screw cab F150 would be nice where the tail gate was the button for the gate - the roof was the door buttons and maybe the hood was the remote start button. I don't know.
But I'm open to other suggestions too.
Like a miniature Pmag or hell I don't know a miniature fake knife (pick a shape to mimic) or whatever. I wouldn't want the knife version but others might.
Of options I like the F150 profile the best. Say neighborhood of 1:150 th scale or near abouts. whatever works out to something the rough size of the existing fob.
