Please provide your recommendation and experience/comment for the best structual and best looking retractable and hideable aftermarket tailgate step for a 2019 XLT Special Edition Sport. Any pictures or web links would also be appreciated.

Find a junk yard with a wrecked F-150 that has the tailgate step and use that tailgate for parts to put the factory one in yours. (just a thought)

I thought this was more of a tailgate swap than just a parts swap? I could be wrong.

I put this one on my superduty and like it better than the OEM steps. Pricey, but great.

either swap the whole tailgate or get the amp one that goes under the bumper.

They are two different animals. Cannot retrofit the non to make a step. They weigh considerably different too. The under the bumper type steps are good, but not if you have a topper. Awkward and head banging dangerous.

I like the Spare Bumper. Problem is that it doesn't exactly meet your qualifications of being retractable and hideable.

It installs into a 2-inch hitch receiver.

As above, I have one of the AMP Research BedStep Retractable Bumper Steps on my truck. It works great and you can use the step to climb into the truck when the tailgate is down. I believe that the step is rated for 300 lbs.
