Default Advice on used 2016 lariat

Hi guys, need opinion on a 2016 lariat. 502a sunroof, fx4, 5.0, nicely optioned. Sticker is 56k. Here's where it gets interesting, dealer had to buy and title it from ford as it sat on their lot too long (their story not mine). So it is a used vehicle with under 50 miles on it. They are asking 46k, I think that's a bit steep, your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I was going to say, I was at 10k off a 2016 Lariat new last year. They can do better.

Ask them for a copy of the OASIS report. It'll include the service history including repairs and recalls done.

It is common to have such low mileage cars this late in the year. You could also ask the local DMV for a copy of the VIN report to see any title changes.

Also, the dealer owns the vehicle from the moment it departs the assembly line, so the whole "we had to buy it and title it from ford" sounds like BS. They know they own the truck as soon as it hits their lot.

Vehicle has less than 50 miles on it, probably has been on one or two test drives if that.

I paid just over 50k for a 2017 502a 3.5 ecoboost lariat with sunroof and bed step and pretty much everything minus tech pack. Mine was snickered at 61k. So 46k seems a little steep when you can get a 2017 for the same price that is new.

This was 4 weeks ago and they had to get it from another dealer

I told the dealer the same thing, killer95stang, he said it was a good price, so I said I'm not interested. This was a week ago, he called again today with same price.

Are you dealing with the fleet department? I only deal with the fleet manager these days. No offense to salesman, but I buy a new ford every two years. I don't have the time or patience to go back and forth over price. I talk with fleet, he emailsme a price and window sticker and I say yes or no. My trip to the dealer to make the actual deal takes less than 45 minutes and i leave without a headache.

The big dealers around here are Galpin and Ken Grody. They have a good selection but every time i buy from them (twice at each), i leave angry, like we wasted a lot of time going in circles.

Just dealing with the internet sales guy, not going to waste time going there unless price is right. I don't have to trade, got a 15 mustang with no issues, just considering going a different direction. I tend to trade rather often as well.
