I packed up and got prepared-plenty of emergency supplies like extra food/water, camping gear, etc to ensure we would be safe in the event of a catastrophe...
I do this just to drive across the county here in southern California. It's earthquake country.

OP, thank you! for starting this thread. It's a great idea. I hope to have a fun trip to share, soon. Maybe after offroading with dlbb. lol.

Default Our summer vacation

We drove from Sacramento to Omaha 3 days after getting the new to us 2017 Screw Lariat back from the dealer for Cam phaser replacement. After visiting w/ family a few days we loaded a 42” riding mower into the bed and drive to Birmingham to take the mower to our son.

Default Our Summer Vacation II

While in Birmingham, we took a day trip to a popular waterfalls park where crazy people jump off the top to the pool below.

We then decided that as long as we were 3/4 of the way across the country, we should go to Asheville, NC to the Biltmore

On the way west from NC, we went to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

by the time we got home, we had covered over 6200 miles and averaged 16.9 mpg. The Lie-o-meter claimed 17.9 (after a mid trip adjustment).
