Yes, I know that pinstriping to a vehicle or F150 is old school. However since I removed the big ole FX4 off-road decal from the side of my Magnetic color truck it looks like a big unfinished canvas or billboard.
So I got to thinking old school pinstripes and how this may look if I keep things simple. I'm not talking the large decals that are available, but the simple single or double stripe.
I was thinking of going with either black which is a color match for everything. Or doing a silver or blue to tie the color into that of the motor home.
Do any of you have or have pinstriped your truck and have a couple of photos you could share, Please.
I will try to add a photo of the truck and motorhome together so you can offer some color suggestions.
I couldn't find a photo with the FX4 decal removed, so for visual effect simply place your finger over the decal....lol
Here's what my 18 Sport looks like with a pinstripe. I was going to remove it, but it actually looks pretty nice and very different than any of the other magnetics I've seen out and about.
Pinstriping choices are very personal and almost limitless.
The catalog attached shows some possibilities. I used the Flames on my 2010, and Barbed Wire on my 2016. I had a tinting/wrap place do the 2010 with my material, and I did the 2016 myself, after seeing how easy it was.
I used Sharpline Pinstriping Tape, Google it, I paid less than $50 for a 150' foot roll. The solid color is much cheaper. Plenty extra for mistakes and later repairs, if needed.

I've been having the same problem. I didn't like the fx4 but now it seems so blank. I did install the "special edition" style black and red fender emblems but still too blank.

How about going to your local wrap shop and doing the 2 tone to the bottom rockers? Like the optional oem 2 tone paint.
I don't see very many 2 tone trucks in my hood. Just a thought, may do myself.
If you do decide to pin stripe the truck I would follow the belt line (dropp it with the front door window). The stripe should match your interior color. Don't buy the cheap stuff from the parts store, instead have it done professionally because it will last.
I always remove all decals, badges, stickers, and anything else on the paint. Dealer where I bought the truck automatically puts a LoJack, pin stripes, and window tint (front windows only, since rears are already factory tinted). I didn't want any of that except the tint (but a bit darker), but at least didn't pay for it (I refused). At any rate, was about to remove the 'FX4' stickers, pin stripes, and even the 'F150 Platinum' badges, when my wife told me it'd look like a freaking refrigerator (white truck here). Thought twice about it, and for the first time, decided to leave it alone. It was going to be a ton of work removing the pin stripes too. Oh, the only badge I removed was the ugly 'ecoboost' one; that was it. It's so stupid, since basically all GM turbo engines are now ecoboost, so it's the equivalent of putting 'turbo', but uglier. Ha ha. At the end, it was a close decision to leave pin stripes, but I wouldn't have paid to put them; that's for sure, but that's just me .
I'd take a picture of mine, but my truck is out in the parking lot at work, not to mention it's absolutely filthy with salt all over it. Just imagine a 1/4" double stripe in red that matches the F150 (SE) badges on the front and the FX4 on the back. It follows the style line from the tail lights to the headlights. If I get a chance, I'll take a pic. It absolutely changes the look of the truck!

Following the crowd off a cliff sometimes isn't a good thing. I suggest you add the fx4 stickers back.
Check this out:
I love the way it looks! It's simple, but adds so much character and doesn't look like an afterthought. Almost OEM. Funny thing is, I got this idea from an '89 Chevy Cavalier that I owned many years ago. The paint was a similar color, but had the double red pinstripe down the side and I loved it! It was unique and I never saw another one like it. My parents bought the car from Budget Rentals in '91 and that car was phenomenal! It lasted me until 1998 until I traded it for my '99 Ram RCSB 4X4 5-Speed Sport. Too bad Chevy's (and Ram's) quality has fallen into a ditch these days.
