Adding Lane assist to a 502A

He installed the console harness before he started troubleshooting the switch, but the actual switch was not working to turn it off and on. That is where he realized a wire was not run all the way to the switch and he started doing testing with Pin 9 and his temporary microswitch.
He indicated he was running that Pin to ground to switch the system off and on, but that Pin has power on it so I don't understand what he was doing to make his microswitch work.

So if you don't plan on adding Active Park I don't see why you would even use the console harness since you still need to run wire from pin 9 to switch anyways.

Have you verified on your mirror connector C9012 that pins 11-14 are populated in the connector also?

Ok, then he was just doing the same thing like picture #1 above I posted where pin 9 hooks to the LKS swtich and then to ground. So if that's the case then pin 9 from the mirror doesn't travel down to the main harness so you'd have to run a wire from pin 9 to the LKS switch even if you installed the harness. If this is true then the harness from the mirror to main harness is different in truck's like mine that came with LKS factory installed versus what a Lariat without it from factory has.
So if you don't plan on adding Active Park I don't see why you would even use the console harness since you still need to run wire from pin 9 to switch anyways.

Yeah, that is what I was looking at as Pin 7 is the Pillar Ground.
This is where I am getting confused on the actual switch wiring. Would this just be a two terminal switch with Pin 7 on one side and 9 on the other, in essence connecting a wire with power on it to ground? Is that how the OEM switch works?
It has been a long time since I had to do circuits. A LOOOOONNNNGGG time.
Thanks

You'd want a 12V Momentary SPST (single pole single throw) switch with pin 9 on one terminal and pin 7 on the other.

That makes sense -- it's a momentary signal, not an on/off. So to test, you should be able to ground it momentarily and see the system turn on, then ground it again and see it go off. Right??
