Default Adding HomeLink to 2015 XLT

My drivers side visor doesn't *appear* to have power. I want HomeLink and wondering has anyone looked at adding it aftermarket somehow? I am handy, always DIY mods, but wondering that since there is no light in the mirror, it probably doesn't have power (haven't taken it apart).

Ricktwuhk has a play by play manual somewhere on this forum.

Very clean install.

I bought a mirror with homelink on it. Works perfect, easy install.

What did you buy? Direct swap? Does it have the electrochromatic dimming like the stock '15 does? I'd love to know what you bought. Thanks

The majority of the Auto Dimming Gentex brand mirrors with homelink will work. I bought one off a 2012 Toyota on eBay. The wiring harness needed to be spliced in order to work but that was easy and any car radio shop can do it for you.

As long as you have the auto dimming mirror, you are good to go. You need power to the unit. So it seems like you are set.

Search eBay for Gentex homelink mirror.

If you have a lit mirror, all you need is a $20 Homelink module from eBay. Buying a mirror equipped with Homelink would be much more expensive.

Yeah the mirrors are 60-130 depending on things. However I wonder if my mirror has power? There's no light in it

If the mirror is auto dimming then it has power. Is there a black cable running to the roof liner from the mirror? If so, you have power.

The module for the visor is cheaper however, I didn't want to risk breaking the visor in anyway.

Yeah I was meaning my mirror in my visor. I don't see a light in my visor so I assume no power. I'll look later...

bringing power to the visor is no problem even if it's not powered. Feel around on the right side of the visor, you can feel the area the homelink should be installed.
