I felt a bit on the side that faces the driver when up. I'll read the howtos for 2014- and see more. But ya I have to imagine I have no power on my xlt.

Will know more later after reading...

The module for the visor is cheaper however, I didn't want to risk breaking the visor in anyway.
Do the Gentex mirrors all mount the exact same way to the window? I remember removing my auto-dimming mirror in my Tacoma to do work wiring work and then slide it back down over the mount. Is it the same if I buy Toyota Gentex auto dimming w/ homelink, will it side right over?

To do a true no-splice/no-cut option, you'd probably need the female receptable that Ford uses, along with a second wiring harness you could simply plug in, cut and then attach to the Gentex wiring? Hmm...

There is no power run into the visor.

I did this install on my 2012 and the visor was precut with a knockout for the homelink, but this visor is not made this way. I just tried to open it up and it looks like it has a styrofoam core.

Default 2016 with auto dimming exterior mirrors too

I have a 2016 with the 302A package that has auto dimming exterior mirrors. These are controlled by the interior mirror so there Is more than 3 wires to the interior mirror. I bought a Gentex mirror with compass and homelink off eBay but realized I would loose the auto dim on the exterior mirrors if I made the swap. Just wanted anyone thinking of doing this to know before they bought a mirror like I did. I will look for visors from a Lariet and make the conversion that way at this point unless there are other ideas out there.

This was my solution. $15 home link code rolling off eBay. Momentary switches at back of overhead are custom add $20. Opened the home link soldered wire to the sides of switches on board, ran to new momentary. Of course power and ground was readily available when I ran the 11 wires for upfitter switches. Can also power off existing main overhead console wiring. Very easy to reach up and just feel for those switches.
