On second thought, if the screen guidelines are as they look on their website then they're a pretty good match to the stock backup lines and look good. I'm mounting the camera in the bumper, so as long as things match up from that angle with the guidelines I'll be happy.

I had the surface mount front camera, but then returned it for the OEM style.

In the instructions, the surface mounted front camera has the guidelines, however if you don't want them, there is a white wire in the bundle that is looped. You simply cut this wire and you won't have the lines on the front.

Thanks for clarifying that. I know that's something a lot of aftermarket cameras have (a wire you can cut to disable guidelines) so I'm glad they included it.

This would be tough to do since there aren't any easily accessible wires coming out of the radio button. I believe most of the output signals from the instrument panel ***** and buttons get combined into a few wires that send the info either straight to the APIM or some other module first. So there's not really a "button pushed" circuit for the radio button you could tap into.

Is anybody able to provide the full APIM connector pinout of the F150/2016 ?

(I have the factory manual but most of the connector pinout are not in it...)

TIA

I posted the links for it. Read the thread from two pages back.

Have a new front emblem to change during the process. Will post results in a couple weeks.

TexasFording, thanks for all your work and posts.
Let me give you some advice. I ruined one emblem doing what you're planning on doing. Dont use a dremel. Be very patient when cutting and use super sharp cutting tools, whatever you want to use. There are mounting brackets on the back of the emblem and there is a small lip around the perimeter of the emblem that makes cutting a chore.

I ended up spending 70 bucks for an OEM emblem for use with the OE front camera and custom painted to my design.

When you're ready to get this done, holler. Im in LBK.

Thanks!
From what I have tested, the order is

1) rear OE
2) front
3) left
and I assume 4) right since I haven't connected it yet.

I guess I should have benched it before I started the final install. Oh well.

Reverse always has priority from what I've seen. I have been driving with it for two days now, and only had one issue which has been reported already.

They gave me a sequence to do and then relearn the cameras. In fairness the installation wasnt finalized so something could have jarred something (I was doing 45 while off roading )

The OE-style camera doesnt have guidelines. And it makes sense not to have them. The camera is right at the egde of the front of the truck that having guidelines would make them look like a circle. There is a slight fish eye effect because of the wide-angle camera they used, but it looks great without the lines.

Thats me at a stop light, rather close to the front exploder. The image looks crooked because the phone was about to fall off my hand when I took the picture. And yes, the legend is also part of the camera and you can zoom in/out like the rear OE.
