Is there a difference between XLT and Lariat seats? Looks like there are 2 harnesses for mine which are heated/cooled/memory.

I am so disgusted with what Ford did to the seat bottom and made it so uncomfortable that I bought a used one from a 14 FX4 heated/cooled just so I can replace the bottom cushion. Looks like average price for a used seat is $400, thats what I paid for it.

I cant seem to find any seats, local, in black. Anyone know if I can easily swap over the non powered butt cushion and seat back from a manual seat to to a power seat?

The cushion and covers, except for heated/cooled are the same on all seats. What I am about to find out soon it if the cover and cushion from a 2012 will fit the 16 10 Way H/C seat. If not, I will find some way to make it fit. The overall shape is nearly identical, but I don't know if the sides and clips are the same, or need to be modified.

I put the cushion/cover on top of the existing seat and sat down and it wa like AHHHH. Nice, and soft.

Surprisingly enough the cushion from the 2012 FX4 seat fit the pan on the 16 seat. I had to slice a little foam from where the heat/cool fan goes to the seat duct, but it works.

the only thing I don't like about the manual seat is the seating position is a bit higher than what you can lower the power seat to. I have a long torso and prefer to sit as low as I can get the seats.

What I do like about the non power seat is no one can monkey with it and jack up the settings that really bugs me. I don't need to adjust that stuff anyways. I just prefer it the same. I also don't need an extra 30 pounds of crap and complication to move my seat.

This.

If the manual seats didn't sit so high up it wouldn't be an issue. I don't consider myself tall, but I feel like i'm going to hit my head on the roof. My wife is so short, her feet barely touch the floor.

FWIW, the seat I picked up from an FX4 has the memory buttons on it. I don't know if the memory module itself is actually contained in the seat, but food for thought if you want a 10 way adjustable.

See what's funny is I need the seat higher. I feel the manual seat is too low and I like to have my head darn near touching the roof lol.

did anyone get this to work yet? my STX seat is pretty annoying. for one it sits alot higher than the lowest level of the power seat. The other is I almost always prefer NO lumbar support and it seems like with the **** adjusted all the day down I am still getting alot more lumbar than I want. It just seems like the back padding is hitting my back in the wrong spot. drove a 2017 lariat for 5 weeks and had no issues with the seat. The seat in the STX feels like your sitting on it rather than in it if you know what I mean. I am going to switch out to leather and think I might also want to change this as well.

bump to see if anyone did anything with this. I just bought an 8 way seat out of a 301 XLT, for $225. the thread starter, has 8 wires in his factory seat wiring. the other picture of wires has 5 in the bundle just like mine. This XLT seat has 7 wires in the bundle so one would think all I need to do is add power and ground. The 2 extra wires are in the middle row of the harness. I played around with a jump box and didn't get it working.
