Default Added subwoofer for better sound

I brought a 2015 lariat screw with the 501a package without the Sony sound. To give my truck a better sound I added JL stealth box and a 5 channel 1000 watt JL amp to amp the front and rear door factory speakers and the sub woofer and now sound system sound great. The steathbox from the previous gen truck fits in this truck. Has any one else gone this route to get better sound?

I am interested in doing the same. Did you put together a "how-to" guide for dummies?

My Barracuda has 1 speaker in the center of the dash and an AM radio.

Does your truck have a 5.0 or an EcoBoost? If you have an EB, are there any issues with the artificial noise?

I didn't amp that speaker only the 4 speakers in the door. I left the the 3 speakers for highs alone. And it sounds clear th amped speakers did drown them out.

I have the 3.5 Ecoboost and it didn't do anything with the artificial engine noise. It's still there. The only thing I notice is the sound from the back up alarm is a higher pitch. I guess because of amp and the setting but other then that everything is fine.

I will upload pics when I can but my friend did most of the install. The subwoofer fits under the dual bench seat in the back and the amp is behind the that same bench seat. The key was running the wires from the battery terminal to the amp. Also you have you ground the amp to the battery because of the aluminum body.

Iceman, is your bluetooth or nav a higher volume also? I had an local shop put an amp in one of my trucks and as a result I wouldn't dare hit the voice command button because it was WAY TOO LOUD. I had to turn off the bluetooth because it was too loud and I could not get it adjusted. Still have the amp (JL audio) and would like to put it in my new truck (when I get it).
