Default Add navigation and maps?

I currently have 15' XLT with the sport and fx4 package. I have the my ford touch with the eight inch screen. However, beneath the screen where the USB plug is, there is a slot for the typical card in which comes with the nav system. Can I purchase a card with the maps and roads and load it or no? Thanks for the replies.

Probably just like the last gen! If it didnt come with it, much easier and cheaper to go aftermarket!

I double checked my window sticker and it doesn't mention nav. That's why I was asking. Typically I just use my phone wireless. But it's an empty slot and wanted to fill it.

Yeah, the nav is an extra option. Perhaps it includes the GPS hardware/wiring/etc. What's in the upper right section of your MFT home screen?

Related question: if a truck DOES have nav and the SD card is installed, can I use the SD slot for anything else or does the nav system hijack it forever?

If you remove the NAV SD card you lose navigation while it isn't in. Put it back in and NAV comes back. It needs the maps to work. You can load other stuff on the NAV SD card but personally would never chance that.

OEM Nav can be added to a MFT vehicle.

Sure, you can use the SD card slot if you take the nav card out (then obviously the nav won't work as long as it's out).
