Hmmm. Unfortunately I don’t have any advice for you then. When I installed mine they were active without any Forscan intervention. (I would have used my factory level scan tool anyway.)

Did your owners manual come with the factory preset code like most seem to? (Mine did.) If not, a dealer that knows where to look should be able to read the preset code. It seems I ran across mine in the BCM but I could be mistaken.

Yes, the code was included with my owner's manual. In fact, I enabled the Sync3 menu to program additional codes. The factory code is accepted and I can program in additional codes. However, the keypad doesn't respond at all...

Quick update.

The keypad lights up when I use the remote to unlock the doors. I was unable to see this during the daytime. However, it does not respond to key-presses.
I have ordered a second keypad. My intention is to take the door apart, verify the connections on the current on are good. And replace it if necessary. Then return the faulty one to the vendor.

Have a safe weekend!

I’m confident that one way or another you will be enjoying an exterior keypad.

You probably already know this, but pressing the 7/8 and 9/0 buttons at the same time will lock the doors on ANY Ford keypad. This would be a good way to verify a working keypad and communication.

Yes, it definitely does not respond to that either. I tested it again.

The new keypad is here. Now, if only it could be 5 o'clock!

I replaced the keypad and it is now working.
What happened was that when I first installed the keypad, I didn't have the cable tucked out of the way of the window. So, when the window went down, it caught the cable and severed one of the wires from the plug.

Totally my error.

Awesome that you have it working, bummer you had to do it twice...

I have a used key pad off a 2015 XLT that I’ll sell for $10 plus shipping. Only thing wrong with it is the clip that holds it in place at the top broke. I just replaced it with a new. This one could probably be glued in place.
