Got a call from my Service Manger to let me know my cooling seat TED's are in. I also mentioned to him that I heard there was a recall on the ACC issue, he looked it up and found it. It states letters will be going out on Oct 19 to all affected owners. The recall directs the dealer to realigned the radar unit and flash the software, which I have already had this done but will let them do it again just just in case it's been updated again.

I took my Platinum in to my dealer for it's first service. Even though I have never had a problem with my ACC, he FLASHED my ACC with the latest code.

Hi Caper3x,

I recommend bringing this to the attention of my Ford of Canada colleagues, as they'll be happy to see how they might assist with that ACC concern. Find their profile here: https://www.f150forum.com/members/fordserviceca-150023/

No accident, but had the ACC freak-out for something other then a shiny truck. Was on a 3-lane interstate in the middle lane approaching a semi in the right lane with a delivery truck passing me in the left lane. when both trucks were equally ahead of me (one I was closing on and the other moving away) the ACC hit the brakes with no one in the lane in front of me. Luckily no one was right behind me. Just pointing out it's more then a shiny truck that causes issues. Hopefully the recall will solve this as well.

It sounds like your radar is out of alignment. When the dealer tech RE-FLASHED my ACC, he had to go through a radar alignment procedure.

Mine acted up with the trucks before I had it flashed. Now when I am behind a car if it pulls off into the left lane to turn as the truck starts to speed up the ACC will now apply the brakes as I get about 10 feet from passing the car that is a completely different lane. It is still intermittent enough that its hard to pin point the exact problem. Ford sent out a field service "engineer" to evaluate my truck. He was out here the day before the recall was made public. He said that he is aware that there are several trucks out there that still act up even after having the flash update.

His suggestions was turn off adaptive and use it like regular cruise. He also said Ford is working on an update for trucks still not acting right but doesn't know when a fix will be in place.

I use engineer in "" because it is a job title and not a degree. Also I had to explain to him how the TEDs in the seats produced heat/exhaust.

I would take all this with a grain of salt.

Mine has never caused me any problems, other than I think it accelerates to fast to regain speed. I don't need it down shifting to 4th and flooring it most of the time. And if I did I could do it myself.
I'm afraid that if the dealer messes with it they will just screw it up. But now that it's a official safety recall I have no choice, as need to cover my butt just in case it does act up in the future.

If I could pick what I wanted changed it would be,, one click of the on/off button puts it in regular cruise control second click puts it in ACC and third click back to off.

Mine did it next to an empty flatbed a few days ago.
